Swedish Log Cabin
Probably the oldest log house in North America, the Lower Swedish Log Cabin is the only remaining cabin of several built along Darby Creek during the era of New Sweden (1638 - 1655). It was a Swedish method to clear the land and use the logs to build a homestead. Visitors will notice that the logs were left rounded with the bark on. A corner fireplace is inside the building.
Cabin Visitation
The Cabin is open to visitors on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 PM.
Visits at other times can be arranged by calling (610) 623-1650. All groups should reserve well in advance so arrangements can be made for group presentation.
